Katie Gilbreath

Katie Gilbreath grew up in basically two towns. The school year was spent in Mesquite Texas and the summers were spent in Quitman Texas. It was at Mesquite High School that she had teachers who cultivated her love for technology and English. After a year in the KEOM radio program, and four years in Mesquite's technology classes and Renaissance English program she graduated, and moved on Texas A&M Commerce. There, she double majored in English and Radio- Television as well as completing the Regent's Scholars Program in three and a half years. Now she has decided to continue her studies at A&M Commerce with their graduate studies. She plans on completing their English program with an emphasis in Film in the next year and a half.

It was her summers in Quitman though that inspired this project. Watching her grandparents and hearing their stories made her want to one day do a tribute. When her grandfather's Alzheimer's disease kicked into overdrive this year she knew it was time to put this together before it was too late.
